We are seeking an experienced Assistant Property Manager to support day-to-day property operations, resident and tenant relations, lease administration, financial reporting, and vendor coordination. This role works closely with Property Managers to ensure operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and exceptional customer satisfaction across a diverse property portfolio.

The Assistant Property Manager collaborates with Leasing, Facilities, Maintenance, Accounting, Legal, Vendors, and Regional Operations teams to support business objectives while delivering exceptional service to residents and property owners.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with the daily management of residential and commercial property operations.
  • Support lease administration, renewals, move-ins, move-outs, and occupancy management.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for residents, tenants, vendors, and property owners.
  • Coordinate maintenance requests and monitor service completion to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Assist with rent collection, accounts receivable, and delinquency follow-up activities.
  • Prepare operational reports, occupancy metrics, financial summaries, and property performance dashboards.
  • Support annual budgeting, expense tracking, and variance reporting.
  • Coordinate vendor contracts, work orders, and service agreements.
  • Conduct routine property inspections and ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Maintain accurate tenant records, lease documentation, and regulatory files.
  • Assist with marketing initiatives, resident engagement programs, and community events.
  • Ensure compliance with Fair Housing regulations, company policies, and local property management requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and resident satisfaction.
  • Support special projects and regional property management initiatives.

Job Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Real Estate, Property Management, Finance, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in property management, leasing, real estate operations, or customer service.
  • Experience with property management platforms such as Yardi, RealPage, MRI Software, Entrata, AppFolio, or similar systems.
  • Strong knowledge of lease administration, budgeting, rent collection, and resident relations.
  • Familiarity with Fair Housing regulations and property management best practices.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Apartment Manager (CAM), Certified Property Manager (CPM), or similar credentials are preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

As a member of the Property Management team, the Assistant Property Manager provides strategic support by:

Working Conditions

  • Fully Remote position within the United States with periodic on-site property visits as required.
  • Flexible work schedule supporting multiple regional property portfolios.
  • Approximately 15–20% domestic travel for property inspections, resident meetings, training, and operational planning.

Job Function

The Assistant Property Manager supports daily property operations by assisting with leasing activities, financial administration, resident services, vendor management, maintenance coordination, and operational reporting. This role partners with property management leadership to improve occupancy, enhance customer satisfaction, maintain regulatory compliance, and maximize property performance. Success is measured through resident satisfaction, occupancy rates, operational efficiency, financial performance, compliance, and portfolio support.


Compensation & Benefits

Compensation Package

Base Salary: $232,000 – $294,000 USD annually

Compensation is determined based on property management experience, real estate expertise, portfolio complexity, geographic location, certifications, and overall qualifications.
