The Chief Accounting Officer serves as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, overseeing all aspects of accounting operations, financial reporting, technical accounting, internal controls, external audits, financial compliance, and accounting policy development. This individual partners closely with the CEO, Board of Directors, executive leadership, investors, and regulatory stakeholders to ensure transparency, operational excellence, and long-term financial stability.
Working collaboratively with Finance, Treasury, Tax, Internal Audit, Legal, Investor Relations, Information Technology, and Business Operations, the CAO will lead complex financial initiatives, support corporate growth strategies, optimize accounting processes through automation, and strengthen governance across a global enterprise.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide executive leadership for all corporate accounting functions, financial reporting, and accounting operations.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes while ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, SOX regulations, and other applicable accounting standards.
- Develop and maintain enterprise-wide accounting policies, internal controls, and governance frameworks.
- Lead external audits, regulatory examinations, and financial compliance initiatives.
- Partner with the CFO and executive leadership to support long-term financial strategy and capital planning.
- Oversee technical accounting matters involving acquisitions, revenue recognition, equity compensation, and complex transactions.
- Direct global accounting teams while promoting operational excellence and professional development.
- Improve financial reporting processes through automation, ERP optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Present financial results, accounting updates, and regulatory matters to executive leadership and the Board of Directors.
- Evaluate financial risks and implement controls that protect organizational assets and financial integrity.
- Support mergers, acquisitions, corporate restructuring, and integration activities.
- Collaborate with Tax, Treasury, Legal, Investor Relations, and Internal Audit on strategic financial initiatives.
- Foster a culture of integrity, accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement throughout the Finance organization.
Job Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline required.
- CPA designation required.
- MBA or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive accounting leadership experience, including significant executive-level responsibility.
- Extensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, SOX compliance, and corporate governance.
- Proven experience leading global accounting organizations within public or large private enterprises.
- Experience overseeing external audits, technical accounting, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong understanding of ERP platforms, including SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or Workday Financials.
- Outstanding executive leadership, communication, and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Experience supporting mergers and acquisitions, IPO readiness, or multinational finance operations is highly desirable.

Job Function

Compensation Package
Base Salary: $485,000 – $518,000 USD annually
Compensation is determined based on executive leadership experience, public company expertise, technical accounting knowledge, organizational impact, geographic location, and overall qualifications.
