Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Define and lead the enterprise development strategy across software engineering, digital platforms, cloud technologies, and AI-enabled solutions.
- Translate business priorities into scalable technology and product-development roadmaps.
- Lead large, distributed engineering and development organizations across the United States.
- Establish engineering standards for architecture, software quality, security, reliability, scalability, and technical performance.
- Partner with Product, Technology, Data, AI, Cybersecurity, Operations, and executive leadership to deliver major enterprise initiatives.
- Oversee cloud modernization, platform engineering, DevOps, CI/CD, APIs, distributed systems, and legacy transformation.
- Guide responsible adoption of generative AI, intelligent automation, AI-assisted development, and emerging technologies.
- Improve engineering productivity, development velocity, release quality, and developer experience.
- Establish strategies for technical debt, platform lifecycle management, system resilience, and operational reliability.
- Manage significant engineering investments, technology vendors, capacity planning, and development budgets.
- Recruit, develop, and retain senior engineering leaders and highly skilled technical talent.
- Provide executive leadership with clear visibility into delivery performance, technology risks, investment priorities, and engineering strategy.
Job Qualifications and Requirements
- 15+ years of progressive software development, engineering, or technology leadership experience.
- Significant experience leading large-scale engineering or product-development organizations.
- Previous experience as a Chief Development Officer, CTO, SVP Engineering, VP Engineering, Head of Engineering, or comparable senior technology leader preferred.
- Deep understanding of modern software architecture, cloud computing, distributed systems, APIs, DevOps, CI/CD, and platform engineering.
- Strong knowledge of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and emerging development technologies.
- Demonstrated success delivering complex enterprise technology platforms and digital products.
- Experience managing geographically distributed engineering teams.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity and secure software-development practices.
- Experience managing substantial technology budgets and strategic vendor relationships.
- Exceptional executive communication, organizational leadership, and decision-making capabilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred; advanced degree or MBA is advantageous.

Working Conditions
- Remote position within the United States.
- Full-time executive leadership role within a large enterprise environment.
- Regular collaboration with executive and technical teams across multiple U.S. time zones.
- Periodic domestic or international travel may be required for leadership meetings, strategic planning, customer engagements, and engineering initiatives.
- Additional availability may occasionally be required during major product launches or critical technology events.
- Requires appropriate handling of confidential technology, product, financial, and corporate strategy information.
