About the Opportunity

We are seeking an accomplished and visionary Chief Investment Officer (CIO) to lead the organization’s investment strategy, portfolio management, asset allocation, risk management, and investment governance. This executive role will be responsible for developing and executing a disciplined investment framework designed to achieve long-term financial objectives while maintaining appropriate risk controls and portfolio resilience.

The Chief Investment Officer will serve as the organization’s senior investment authority, partnering closely with the CEO, Executive Leadership Team, Investment Committee, Board-level stakeholders, Finance, Risk, Legal, and external investment partners. This leader will oversee portfolio construction, investment research, manager selection, performance evaluation, market analysis, and strategic capital allocation.

The ideal candidate brings extensive institutional investment leadership experience, exceptional financial acumen, sophisticated risk management capabilities, and a proven record of navigating complex market environments. Success in this role requires strategic vision, sound judgment, analytical rigor, and the ability to communicate investment decisions clearly to executive and board-level stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the organization’s long-term investment strategy and investment policy.
• Lead strategic asset allocation, portfolio construction, and capital allocation decisions.
• Oversee investment portfolios across applicable asset classes and strategies.
• Monitor market conditions, economic trends, geopolitical developments, and investment risks.
• Establish investment objectives, benchmarks, performance standards, and risk parameters.
• Lead the evaluation and selection of external investment managers, funds, advisors, and strategic partners.
• Conduct ongoing due diligence and performance reviews of investment managers and portfolio holdings.
• Oversee portfolio risk management, liquidity planning, diversification, and exposure monitoring.
• Provide investment recommendations and strategic guidance to the Investment Committee and Board.
• Establish investment governance frameworks, policies, procedures, and controls.
• Evaluate new investment opportunities, markets, asset classes, and strategic partnerships.
• Monitor portfolio performance and provide comprehensive analysis to executive leadership.
• Partner with Finance and Risk teams to align investment strategy with broader financial objectives.
• Manage relationships with investment banks, asset managers, consultants, custodians, and other financial institutions.
• Lead investment research and develop a forward-looking view of market opportunities and risks.
• Develop and manage investment team structures, talent strategies, and professional development programs.
• Ensure investment activities comply with applicable regulatory requirements and organizational policies.

Job Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
• Master’s degree, MBA, CFA, or equivalent advanced investment qualification strongly preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of progressive investment management experience.
• Significant experience in institutional portfolio management, asset allocation, investment strategy, or capital management.
• Proven executive leadership experience managing sophisticated investment portfolios.
• Deep understanding of public and private markets, alternative investments, fixed income, equities, and portfolio construction.
• Strong expertise in investment risk management, performance attribution, and quantitative analysis.
• Demonstrated experience evaluating investment managers, funds, and strategic investment opportunities.
• Strong understanding of investment governance, fiduciary responsibilities, and regulatory considerations.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, negotiation, and executive relationship management skills.

Strategic Support

The Chief Investment Officer serves as the organization’s senior investment strategist and provides executive leadership across portfolio management, asset allocation, investment research, risk management, and capital deployment.

This executive works closely with the CEO, Investment Committee, Board, Finance, Risk, Legal, and external investment partners to ensure investment decisions are aligned with long-term financial objectives and organizational priorities.

Through disciplined portfolio construction, strategic asset allocation, manager selection, investment research, and risk management, the CIO directly influences long-term financial performance, capital preservation, liquidity, and enterprise value.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation Package: $450,000 – $700,000 annually, with additional performance-based incentives based on investment leadership experience, portfolio complexity, assets under management, institutional expertise, and overall qualifications.
