About the Opportunity

We are seeking an accomplished and strategic Director of Investment Operations to lead the operational infrastructure supporting investment activities, portfolio administration, trade processing, reconciliations, performance reporting, and investment data management. This senior leadership role is responsible for ensuring investment operations are accurate, efficient, scalable, controlled, and aligned with organizational objectives.

The Director of Investment Operations will collaborate closely with Portfolio Management, Trading, Finance, Accounting, Risk, Compliance, Technology, Legal, and Executive Leadership to strengthen operational processes and support investment decision-making. This leader will oversee operational workflows across the investment lifecycle, including trade settlement, cash management, corporate actions, reconciliations, portfolio data, performance measurement, and service-provider relationships.

The ideal candidate brings extensive investment operations leadership experience, strong financial markets knowledge, exceptional analytical capabilities, and a proven record of improving operational efficiency and controls.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead the organization’s investment operations function and establish strategic operational priorities.
• Oversee trade processing, settlement, reconciliations, cash management, corporate actions, and portfolio administration.
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of investment transactions across multiple asset classes.
• Develop and maintain operational policies, procedures, controls, and service standards.
• Partner with Portfolio Management and Trading teams to support efficient investment execution.
• Monitor operational risks and implement controls to reduce errors, losses, and processing disruptions.
• Oversee investment accounting, performance reporting, and portfolio data management activities.
• Manage relationships with custodians, administrators, brokers, banks, technology providers, and other strategic partners.
• Establish and monitor operational KPIs, service-level agreements, and performance dashboards.
• Lead initiatives to automate manual processes and improve investment operations technology.
• Support regulatory, compliance, audit, and risk management requirements.
• Oversee operational readiness for new investment products, strategies, markets, and portfolios.
• Develop business continuity and disaster recovery procedures for critical investment operations.
• Manage departmental budgets, resource planning, and operational capacity.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop investment operations professionals and managers.
• Present operational performance, risks, strategic initiatives, and improvement plans to executive leadership.

Job Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Master’s degree, MBA, or CFA designation preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in investment operations, asset management, investment administration, or financial services.
• Minimum 5 years of management or senior leadership experience.
• Strong understanding of investment products, securities processing, trade lifecycle management, and portfolio operations.
• Experience across equities, fixed income, alternatives, derivatives, or other institutional investment products preferred.
• Strong knowledge of reconciliation, settlement, custody, corporate actions, cash management, and investment accounting processes.
• Experience with investment management and portfolio platforms such as BlackRock Aladdin, Charles River, SimCorp, Bloomberg, or similar systems.
• Strong understanding of operational risk, internal controls, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
• Exceptional leadership, analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Compensation & Benefits
