About the Opportunity
We are seeking an accomplished and strategic Director of Public Relations to lead the organization’s public relations, corporate communications, media strategy, executive communications, and brand reputation initiatives. This leadership role is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive communication strategies that strengthen brand awareness, enhance corporate reputation, build media relationships, and support business growth across diverse markets.
The Director of Public Relations will collaborate closely with Executive Leadership, Marketing, Brand Management, Investor Relations, Human Resources, Legal, Customer Success, and Sales to ensure consistent messaging across all communication channels. This position will oversee media relations, crisis communications, thought leadership, executive visibility, corporate storytelling, and public affairs initiatives while protecting and enhancing the organization’s reputation.
The ideal candidate is an experienced communications leader with exceptional storytelling abilities, strong media relationships, executive presence, and a proven track record of developing successful public relations campaigns. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and execute enterprise-wide public relations and corporate communications strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
- Lead media relations initiatives by building and maintaining strong relationships with journalists, editors, influencers, and industry analysts.
- Create and manage strategic communication plans that enhance brand awareness and corporate reputation.
- Oversee the development of press releases, media kits, executive messaging, speeches, articles, and corporate announcements.
- Partner with Executive Leadership to strengthen executive visibility, thought leadership, and speaking opportunities.
- Lead crisis communication planning, reputation management, and rapid-response communication strategies.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Brand teams to ensure consistent messaging across campaigns and communication channels.
- Develop communication strategies supporting product launches, mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, and corporate initiatives.
- Monitor media coverage, public sentiment, and industry trends while providing strategic recommendations.
- Manage corporate social responsibility (CSR) communications and community engagement initiatives.
- Oversee PR agency relationships, media partnerships, and external communication vendors.
- Establish KPIs, reporting frameworks, and analytics to measure public relations performance and campaign effectiveness.
- Manage departmental budgets, resource allocation, and strategic communication investments.
- Mentor and develop public relations professionals while fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
- Ensure all communications comply with corporate governance, legal requirements, and brand standards.
- Present communication strategies, campaign performance, and reputation insights to Executive Leadership.
Job Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in public relations, corporate communications, media relations, or brand communications.
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience managing communication teams and strategic initiatives.
- Proven experience developing enterprise communication strategies and managing corporate reputation.
- Strong relationships with national, regional, and industry media outlets.
- Demonstrated success leading crisis communications and executive communications programs.
- Experience managing PR agencies, media partnerships, and integrated communication campaigns.
- Strong knowledge of digital communications, social media strategy, content marketing, and media analytics.
- Exceptional writing, editing, presentation, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

Strategic Support
The Director of Public Relations serves as a strategic communications leader responsible for protecting and enhancing the organization’s reputation while strengthening relationships with media, customers, investors, employees, and other key stakeholders. Working Conditions
- Fully Remote position within the United States.
- Standard Monday through Friday business schedule with flexibility for media events, executive announcements, and crisis communications.
- Frequent virtual collaboration with executive leadership, media representatives, PR agencies, and cross-functional teams.
- Occasional domestic and international travel for executive meetings, media interviews, conferences, industry events, and public engagements.

Compensation & Benefits
Compensation Package: $275,000 – $395,000 annually, based on leadership experience, media relations expertise, communication strategy success, industry background, organizational complexity, and overall qualifications.
