About the Opportunity
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Fraud Analyst to identify, investigate, and prevent fraudulent activity across customer accounts, transactions, payment channels, and business operations. This role is responsible for analyzing transaction patterns, investigating suspicious activity, assessing fraud risks, and supporting strategies that protect customers and the organization from financial losses.
The Fraud Analyst will collaborate closely with Fraud Operations, Risk Management, Compliance, Cybersecurity, Customer Support, Finance, and Legal teams to investigate complex cases, identify emerging fraud patterns, and strengthen fraud detection controls. The successful candidate will use data-driven analysis and investigative techniques to distinguish legitimate activity from potential fraud while maintaining a strong focus on customer protection and regulatory compliance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyze transactions, account activity, payment behavior, and customer information to identify potential fraudulent activity.
- Investigate fraud alerts, suspicious transactions, account takeovers, payment fraud, identity theft, and other fraud typologies.
- Review historical activity and behavioral patterns to determine potential fraud indicators.
- Conduct detailed investigations and document findings, evidence, and recommendations.
- Assess fraud risk and determine appropriate actions in accordance with established policies.
- Escalate complex or high-risk cases to senior investigators, Compliance, or appropriate internal teams.
- Identify emerging fraud trends and develop recommendations to address new threats.
- Monitor fraud detection systems, rules, alerts, and investigative queues.
- Analyze fraud metrics and prepare reports regarding losses, trends, detection rates, and investigation outcomes.
- Collaborate with Risk and Compliance teams on fraud prevention and financial crime initiatives.
- Assist in developing and improving fraud detection rules, models, procedures, and controls.
- Support investigations involving suspicious customer behavior, payment activity, or account activity.
- Maintain accurate case documentation while protecting confidential customer and company information.
- Participate in quality assurance reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Stay informed about emerging fraud techniques, industry trends, and regulatory developments.
Job Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, Data Analytics, Cybersecurity, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in fraud analysis, risk management, financial crime, banking operations, compliance, or transaction monitoring.
- Experience analyzing financial transactions, payment activity, customer behavior, or account activity.
- Strong knowledge of fraud prevention concepts, investigation methodologies, and risk assessment.
- Familiarity with AML, KYC, transaction monitoring, and financial crime compliance principles.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
- Experience with SQL, Python, Tableau, Power BI, or similar analytical tools is preferred.
- Familiarity with fraud detection, case management, CRM, or transaction monitoring platforms.
- Strong analytical, investigative, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple investigations while meeting deadlines and service-level requirements.

The role works closely with Fraud Operations, Risk, Compliance, Cybersecurity, Finance, and Customer Support to improve detection capabilities, reduce fraud losses, and maintain a secure and trusted customer experience.
Working Conditions
- Fully Remote position within the United States.
- Standard Monday through Friday business schedule, with potential flexibility for fraud operations requiring extended coverage.

Compensation & Benefits
Compensation Package: $115,000 – $175,000 annually, based on fraud analysis experience, financial crime expertise, analytical capabilities, industry background, and overall qualifications.
