The Loan Officer serves as a trusted financial advisor, evaluating loan applications, analyzing borrower qualifications, explaining lending products, and guiding applicants from initial consultation through loan approval and closing. This position collaborates closely with Underwriting, Credit Risk, Compliance, Operations, Customer Success, and Business Development teams to provide efficient, compliant, and customer-focused lending solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Consult with prospective borrowers to understand financial needs and recommend appropriate lending solutions.
  • Evaluate loan applications, financial documentation, income verification, and credit information.
  • Explain available loan products, interest rates, repayment terms, and lending requirements to customers.
  • Collect, review, and verify documentation supporting loan applications.
  • Coordinate closely with underwriting, processing, and closing teams to facilitate timely loan approvals.
  • Ensure loan files comply with federal, state, and company lending regulations.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, referral partners, and business stakeholders.
  • Monitor loan pipeline activity while ensuring service-level commitments are consistently achieved.
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries throughout the lending lifecycle.
  • Maintain accurate customer records within loan origination and CRM systems.
  • Identify opportunities to improve customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
  • Participate in business development initiatives that support portfolio growth.
  • Stay informed regarding lending regulations, market trends, and financial products.
  • Achieve established production, quality, and customer satisfaction objectives.

Job Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Banking, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in consumer lending, mortgage lending, commercial lending, or financial services.
  • Experience working with Loan Origination Systems (LOS), CRM platforms, and financial software.
  • Strong understanding of credit analysis, lending practices, underwriting processes, and financial documentation.
  • Knowledge of federal lending regulations, including RESPA, TILA, ECOA, and Fair Lending requirements.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and customer relationship management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple loan files while maintaining exceptional accuracy.
  • An active NMLS License is preferred where applicable.
  • Strong sales and consultative relationship-building experience is highly desirable.

Working Conditions

  • Fully Remote position within the United States.
  • Flexible business hours supporting customers across multiple U.S. time zones.

  • Approximately 5–10% domestic travel for client meetings, training sessions, and company events.

Job Function

The Loan Officer is responsible for originating, evaluating, and managing consumer and commercial loan applications while providing expert financial guidance throughout the lending process. This role partners with underwriting, compliance, operations, and customer service teams to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely loan decisions that support customer success and organizational growth. Success is measured through loan production, portfolio quality, customer satisfaction, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.


Compensation & Benefits

Compensation Package

Base Salary: $215,000 – $295,000 USD annually

Compensation is determined based on lending experience, production performance, financial expertise, geographic location, and overall qualifications.
