About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and quality-focused Quality Assurance Manager to lead quality assurance strategy, testing processes, quality standards, and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.

The Quality Assurance Manager will work closely with Engineering, Product, Development, Operations, and Customer Success teams to establish reliable testing practices, reduce defects, improve product quality, and ensure releases meet defined performance and customer expectations. The ideal candidate brings strong QA leadership, technical knowledge, process discipline, and a proven ability to build high-performing quality teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the organization’s quality assurance strategy and testing standards.
  • Lead QA teams responsible for manual and automated testing activities.
  • Establish testing methodologies, procedures, documentation, and quality standards.
  • Develop test plans, test cases, test scenarios, and acceptance criteria.
  • Oversee functional, regression, integration, performance, and user-acceptance testing.
  • Partner with Engineering and Product teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Establish defect-management processes and monitor issue resolution.
  • Analyze defect trends and identify recurring quality issues.
  • Implement root-cause analysis and corrective-action processes.
  • Define and monitor quality metrics, KPIs, and release-readiness criteria.
  • Establish automation strategies to improve testing efficiency and coverage.
  • Evaluate QA tools, frameworks, and technologies.
  • Support continuous integration and continuous delivery quality practices.
  • Review production incidents and develop preventive quality measures.
  • Maintain QA documentation, test environments, and quality reports.
  • Coordinate testing activities across multiple projects and product releases.
  • Support compliance, security, and quality audits where applicable.
  • Identify opportunities to improve development and release processes.
  • Manage QA resources, priorities, schedules, and departmental budgets.
  • Recruit, coach, mentor, and develop QA professionals.
  • Present quality performance, risks, and improvement recommendations to senior leadership.

Job Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in software quality assurance, testing, or quality engineering.
  • 3+ years of QA leadership or management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies and SDLC processes.
  • Experience with both manual and automated testing.
  • Familiarity with testing frameworks and tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, JUnit, or comparable technologies.
  • Experience with API testing, integration testing, and regression testing.
  • Understanding of Agile, Scrum, DevOps, and CI/CD environments.
  • Experience with defect-tracking and test-management platforms such as Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail, or similar tools.
  • Strong understanding of QA metrics, quality controls, and release management.
  • Experience working with cloud-based software environments preferred.
  • ISTQB, CSQE, or comparable quality certification is a plus.

Strategic Support

The Quality Assurance Manager plays a critical role in protecting product reliability, customer satisfaction, and organizational reputation. By establishing scalable testing practices and quality standards, this role helps reduce production defects, improve release confidence, and accelerate development without compromising quality.

The position also drives continuous improvement by using quality data and customer feedback to identify systemic issues and strengthen the overall software-development lifecycle.

Working Conditions

  • Fully Remote position within the United States.
  • Standard Monday through Friday schedule.
  • Occasional flexibility may be required during major releases, production incidents, or critical testing cycles.
  • Frequent virtual collaboration with Engineering, Product, Development, Operations, and executive leadership.
  • Primarily computer-based work using QA, development, project-management, analytics, and collaboration platforms.
  • Occasional travel may be required for company meetings, technology conferences, and team events.

Job Function

The Quality Assurance Manager leads QA strategy, testing operations, automation, defect management, quality metrics, release validation, process improvement, and QA team development.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation Package: $150,000 – $225,000 annually, based on QA leadership experience, technical expertise, team size, product complexity, industry background, and overall qualifications.
