About the Opportunity

We are seeking an accomplished and strategic Senior Accounting Manager to lead core accounting operations, financial close activities, reporting, internal controls, and accounting process improvements. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information while strengthening accounting processes, supporting compliance, and providing financial insights to senior leadership.

The Senior Accounting Manager will collaborate closely with Finance, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Audit, Legal, Operations, and Executive Leadership to manage the organization’s accounting function and ensure timely, accurate, and compliant financial reporting. This position will oversee month-end and year-end close activities, account reconciliations, financial statement preparation, audit coordination, and the development of accounting policies and controls.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise, leadership experience, financial acumen, and a proven ability to improve accounting operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Oversee general ledger activities, journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
  • Review balance sheet accounts and investigate significant variances and unusual transactions.
  • Ensure accounting activities comply with U.S. GAAP and established company policies.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Coordinate external audits and serve as a primary accounting contact for external auditors.
  • Prepare management reporting packages and financial analyses for senior leadership.
  • Partner with FP&A to support budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and business planning.
  • Collaborate with Tax and Treasury teams on tax compliance, cash management, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, documentation, and control frameworks.
  • Identify opportunities to automate accounting processes and improve reporting efficiency.
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, revenue accounting, and other accounting functions as applicable.
  • Monitor accounting KPIs and develop recommendations for improving financial operations.
  • Support technical accounting research and implementation of new accounting standards.
  • Manage and develop accounting professionals while establishing a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Present accounting performance, financial insights, and process improvement recommendations to senior leadership.

Job Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • CPA certification strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of accounting management or leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and accounting principles.
  • Proven experience managing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Experience supporting external audits and financial statement preparation.
  • Strong understanding of general ledger, reconciliations, accruals, revenue recognition, and financial reporting.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Workday, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial analysis skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, and organizational abilities.

The Senior Accounting Manager serves as a key finance leader responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, strengthening accounting controls, and ensuring reliable financial reporting. This role partners with Finance, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Audit, Operations, and Executive Leadership to improve financial processes and support strategic business decisions.

Through strong accounting governance, process optimization, financial reporting, audit management, and team leadership, this position directly contributes to financial integrity, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and sustainable business growth.


Working Conditions

  • Fully Remote position within the United States.
  • Standard Monday through Friday business schedule with additional flexibility during month-end, quarter-end, year-end, and audit periods.
  • Frequent collaboration with Finance, Accounting, Audit, Tax, Treasury, and Executive Leadership teams.
  • Occasional domestic travel for leadership meetings, audit planning, and company events.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation Package: $240,000 – $350,000 annually, based on accounting leadership experience, CPA status, technical accounting expertise, organizational complexity, industry background, and overall qualifications.
