Admiral Talent > Jobs > Senior Cloud Engineer

Location: United States | Remote / Flexible
Industry: Cloud Infrastructure, Enterprise Technology, AI Platforms & Cybersecurity
Compensation: $215,000 – $278,000

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an accomplished Senior Cloud Engineer to design, automate, secure, and continuously improve the cloud foundations supporting business-critical applications, digital products, data platforms, and emerging AI workloads.

This is not a traditional infrastructure administration position.

The Senior Cloud Engineer will work at the intersection of cloud architecture, platform engineering, infrastructure automation, Kubernetes, reliability engineering, observability, security, networking, and developer enablement.

Our technology environment is evolving toward increasingly automated, resilient, and self-service infrastructure. Engineering teams should be able to provision environments safely, deploy applications consistently, understand system health immediately, and scale services without infrastructure becoming an operational bottleneck.

You will help build that foundation.

Depending on the environment, you may work across AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, designing reusable infrastructure patterns and engineering services that can support multiple development teams and workloads.

You will automate infrastructure through code, strengthen Kubernetes and container platforms, improve cloud security controls, build observability into the platform, reduce operational toil, and help engineering teams move from manually managed infrastructure toward repeatable platform capabilities.

The role requires more than knowledge of individual cloud services.

We are looking for an engineer who understands how compute, networking, identity, storage, containers, data, security, automation, observability, and cost interact as one production system.

Success will be measured by whether the cloud platform becomes more reliable, more secure, easier to operate, easier for developers to consume, and more economically efficient as the organization scales.

Why Join Us

The most interesting cloud engineering problems begin after an organization has already moved to the cloud.

The challenge becomes building infrastructure that can scale without becoming increasingly fragile, expensive, difficult to secure, or painful for developers to use.

That is where this role operates.

You will have the opportunity to influence how cloud infrastructure is architected, how engineering teams deploy software, how Kubernetes platforms evolve, how security controls are automated, how production systems are observed, and how emerging AI workloads are supported.

Rather than spending your time manually maintaining infrastructure, you will be encouraged to engineer away operational complexity.

Your work will connect:

Cloud Architecture → Infrastructure as Code → Platform Engineering → Security → Reliability → Developer Experience → Scale

For a senior engineer who enjoys building the infrastructure foundations that allow hundreds of other technical decisions to happen safely and quickly, this role offers meaningful technical ownership and enterprise-level impact.
