Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, and optimize advanced embedded software solutions powering next-generation intelligent devices and connected systems. The Senior Embedded Software Engineer will play a critical role in developing reliable, high-performance firmware and embedded applications for mission-critical products. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software and firmware solutions for advanced hardware platforms.
- Develop efficient, reliable, and scalable embedded applications using C, C++, and other embedded programming languages.
- Work closely with hardware engineering teams to support board bring-up, device integration, and system validation.
- Design and optimize firmware for microcontrollers, processors, sensors, communication interfaces, and embedded platforms.
- Develop software architecture and contribute to technical decisions impacting product performance and scalability.
- Debug complex hardware-software issues using advanced debugging tools, test equipment, and diagnostic techniques.
- Implement and optimize real-time embedded systems using RTOS environments.
- Develop drivers, middleware components, and low-level software interfaces for embedded hardware.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to define requirements, evaluate solutions, and deliver production-ready systems.
- Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and engineering best-practice initiatives.
- Improve embedded software quality through automated testing, performance analysis, and continuous improvement processes.
- Support product lifecycle activities including prototyping, validation, manufacturing support, and field issue resolution.
- Analyze system performance and optimize memory usage, processing efficiency, power consumption, and reliability.
- Create and maintain technical documentation including software specifications, design documents, and test procedures.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Job Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
- 7+ years of professional experience developing embedded software, firmware, or real-time systems.
- Strong programming experience in C and C++ within embedded environments.
- Extensive experience with microcontrollers, embedded processors, and hardware-software integration.
- Strong understanding of embedded systems architecture, memory management, interrupts, peripherals, and communication protocols.
- Experience working with RTOS platforms such as FreeRTOS, Zephyr, ThreadX, VxWorks, or similar systems.
- Experience with embedded debugging tools, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG/SWD debugging, and hardware validation processes.
- Strong knowledge of communication protocols including UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, USB, Ethernet, or similar interfaces.
- Experience developing firmware for connected devices, IoT platforms, robotics, automotive, aerospace, medical devices, or industrial systems.
- Experience with software development tools including Git, CI/CD pipelines, build systems, and automated testing frameworks.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle practices and engineering documentation standards.
- Ability to analyze complex technical problems and develop efficient, practical solutions.
