About the Opportunity

We are seeking an accomplished and strategic Senior Manager of Technical Programs to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex technical initiatives that support enterprise technology strategy and business growth. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing multiple cross-functional programs, driving technical execution, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring successful delivery of high-impact engineering and technology projects.

The Senior Manager of Technical Programs will partner closely with Engineering, Product Management, DevOps, Infrastructure, Security, Data Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Executive Leadership to align technical programs with business priorities. This role will establish program governance, optimize delivery processes, manage risks, and ensure engineering teams have the structure and support needed to execute effectively.

The ideal candidate combines deep technical program management expertise with exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, and governance of multiple enterprise technical programs.
  • Develop program roadmaps aligned with organizational technology and business strategies.
  • Coordinate cross-functional initiatives involving Engineering, Product, Security, Infrastructure, Data, and Operations teams.
  • Establish program governance frameworks, delivery standards, and reporting processes.
  • Manage program scope, timelines, budgets, resources, dependencies, and deliverables.
  • Identify and mitigate technical, operational, and business risks impacting program success.
  • Drive Agile, Scrum, SAFe, and hybrid program management methodologies where appropriate.
  • Monitor program performance through KPIs, dashboards, and executive reporting.
  • Facilitate executive steering committee meetings and provide regular status updates.
  • Partner with Engineering leadership to improve development processes, release planning, and delivery predictability.
  • Collaborate with Product Management to prioritize strategic initiatives and roadmap execution.
  • Oversee change management, resource planning, and organizational readiness activities.
  • Manage vendor relationships, third-party technology partners, and external program dependencies.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives across technical program management practices.
  • Mentor Technical Program Managers and foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and operational excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements.

Job Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Technical Program Management, Engineering Program Management, or Technology Project Leadership.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading complex cross-functional technical programs.
  • Proven experience managing enterprise software, cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, or digital transformation initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, and modern software development methodologies.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and software delivery best practices.
  • Experience with project and program management tools such as Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or similar platforms.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation Package: $260,000 – $380,000 annually, based on technical program management experience, leadership expertise, organizational complexity, industry background, and overall qualifications.
