The Senior Tax Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring the organization’s tax compliance, financial reporting, and tax planning activities are executed accurately and efficiently. This position partners closely with Accounting, Finance, Treasury, Legal, Internal Audit, and external tax advisors to support compliance with evolving tax regulations while identifying opportunities to improve tax processes and optimize reporting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local corporate income tax returns and supporting schedules.
- Assist with quarterly and annual income tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740 and U.S. GAAP.
- Prepare tax account reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting documentation for financial reporting.
- Monitor tax legislation and regulatory changes while evaluating their impact on the organization.
- Support tax planning initiatives that improve compliance and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities and external auditors.
- Prepare sales and use tax, property tax, franchise tax, and other indirect tax filings as applicable.
- Collaborate with Finance and Accounting teams during month-end and year-end close activities.
- Maintain tax calendars, filing deadlines, and compliance documentation.
- Conduct tax research and prepare technical memorandums supporting tax positions.
- Identify process improvement opportunities through automation and enhanced reporting.
- Support ERP implementations and tax system enhancements as needed.
- Assist with transfer pricing documentation and international tax reporting where applicable.
- Mentor junior accounting staff while promoting best practices across the Tax function.
Job Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline required.
- CPA designation strongly preferred; Master’s degree in Taxation is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive corporate tax or public accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. federal and multi-state corporate tax regulations.
- Experience preparing income tax provisions under ASC 740.
- Familiarity with international tax concepts, transfer pricing, and indirect taxation is desirable.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or Workday Financials.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and tax preparation software.
- Strong analytical, research, and technical accounting skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Working Conditions
- Fully Remote position within the United States.

Job Function
The Senior Tax Accountant is responsible for managing corporate tax compliance, supporting financial reporting, conducting tax research, and ensuring adherence to applicable tax regulations. This role partners with Finance, Accounting, Legal, and executive leadership to deliver accurate tax reporting, strengthen internal controls, and support strategic tax planning initiatives that contribute to the organization’s long-term financial success.
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation Package
Base Salary: $285,000 – $375,000 USD annually
Compensation is determined based on tax expertise, CPA certification, industry experience, geographic location, and overall qualifications.
